On location International Scientific and Practical Conference “Statistics as a Tool for International Communication”, St. Petersburg
Upon the VASAB initiative, a session “International Comparisons of Statistical Indicators of Russia and the EU: achievements, challenges and solutions” was organized on 29 January, 2014 within the framework of the international conference “Statistics as a Tool for International Communication”, held in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation.
The session was organized by Rosstat, Petrostat, VASAB and ICSER Leontief centre. The participants of seven countries agreed that in order to improve the comparison of statistical indicators of the EU and Russia a closer cooperation is needed and proposed a number of recommendations.
The event was also one of the added value results of the BSR TeMo project – Territorial Monitoring for the Baltic Sea Region – that was initiated by VASAB and was carried out within ESPON 2013 programme.
