Maritime stakeholders came together in Brest, France at the end of May. More than 1500 people joined the European Maritime Days 2023 (EMD 2023) as well as many attended the launch of European Blue Forum. Sustainable Blue Economy was in spotlight. VASAB took an active role in both events.

During the 8th Annual Forum of the EUSBSR on 13 – 14 June 2017 in Berlin, project partners of “Baltic LINes” organized seminar “What’s the future? Testing the possible scenarios for shipping and energy in the Baltic Sea and how to integrate them into maritime spatial planning”.

The VASAB Committee on Spatial Planning and Development of the Baltic Sea Region (VASAB CSPD/BSR) is chaired by Estonia from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.

2nd Planners’ Forum within the project platform Capacity4MSP took place on 11 November 2020 online. Already as a traditional activity during the meeting was the exchange of the most pressing issues from each Baltic Sea Region’s country that was continued with broader discussions on the topics from agenda.

On 29 September 2015 VASAB hosted the Baltic SCOPE project kick-off event in Riga, Latvia. More than 80 experts, practitioners and scientists representing a wide range of organizations around the Baltic Sea and beyond shared their experience, knowledge and brought inspiration for further transboundary cooperation on Maritime Spatial Planning.
