Baltic Sea Region Ministers Responsible for Spatial Planning and Development meet in Tallinn

A conference of ministers responsible for spatial planning and development of 11 Baltic Sea Region countries was held in Tallinn, Estonia on 26 September 2014. This was already the 8th ministerial conference within the framework of VASAB cooperation. The previous one took place in October 2009 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

VASAB statement on cooperation with HELCOM distributed during HELCOM Ministerial Meeting

Today, on 3 October 2013, at HELCOM Ministerial Meeting in Copenhagen VASAB handed over a statement on cooperation with HELCOM on maritime spatial planning issues.

In the statement VASAB appreciates the work carried out jointly by VASAB and HELCOM towards better coordination of maritime spatial planning processes in the Baltic Sea Region.

The Baltic University Programme has announced a Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) Course for Professionals

The primary target group for this course includes professionals from the different institutions involved in MSP in the Baltic Sea Region. A second target group comprises NGOs and consulting companies working or preparing to work with MSP and assist with MSP implementation in the Region, as well as Master students with special interest in MSP.

Multi-level Governance in MSP (Maritime Spatial Planning) throughout the Baltic Sea Region – PartiSEApate

The bodies responsible and/or actually drafting MSP throughout the BSR have joined forces in new Baltic Sea Region programme project PartiSEApate. Project partners will test and develop instruments/models on how multi-level governance mechanisms can be realized in MSP within three pilot case areas: a) Pomeranian Bight (SE, DE, PL); b) Lithuanian Sea (LT, LV, SE, RU); c) Middle Bank (SE, PL).

BSR-TeMo – Territorial Monitoring for the Baltic Sea Region
