Projects’ launching conference is organized by CORILA, IUAV and CNR-ISMAR, in Venice, at University of Venice (IUAV).

On 13th December 2022 VASAB Committee for Spatial Planning and Development of the Baltic Sea Region (VASAB CSPD/BSR) met for its 88th meeting and discussed recent developments in the field of spatial planning.

Week ago Barcelona was hosting important international events – 3rd Marine/Maritime Spatial Planning Forum and 5th Marine/Maritime Spatial Planning Conference co-organised by the Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission (DG MARE) and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (IOC-UNESCO).

Calls are open for the ideas on how to build a green & resilient Baltic Sea Region! 

VASAB  Committee on Spatial Planning and Development of the Baltic Sea Region (CSPD/BSR) is continuing to update its Long-Term Perspective for the Territorial Development of the Baltic Sea Region and has prepared draft VASAB Vision 2040.

In the very end of August 2022 twenty participants, students and practitioners, from the Baltic Sea Region gathered for the Young Planners’ Summer School in Greifswald, Germany – five international and interdisciplinary teams developed ideas on the Sustainable Futures for the Baltic Sea Region by 2040.

How would a desired Baltic Sea Region look like in future? How different policies, having implications to our territories and the sea, will play out – will they effectively address the challenges we might expect in the future or are there places where additional joint actions and synergies may help?

VASAB Secretariat as a lead partner oversaw the execution of the project platform Capacity4MSP from 1 August 2019 to 31 March 2022. The project aimed to increase the capability of marine spatial planning stakeholders, policymakers and decision-makers through increased discussion activities and the dissemination of information obtained in maritime spatial planning.

The 5th and final Planners’ Forum within the project platform Capacity4MSP took place on 11 March 2022 online. The forum started out with updates from the national MSP processes as well as from other project partners. The rest of the forum was dedicated to the theme: Planning for offshore wind.

On 9 March 2022, the final event of Project Platform ‘Capacity4MSP’ was organised. During the event, project partners presented to the participants the main results of the project.
